PIL Advisory Group expert Dr. Gbenga Oduntan (University of Kent) commented in an article published by The Conversation on the recent tensions regarding the lake that lies between Tanzania and Malawi (Lake Nyasa/Lake Malawi), “a quintessential African boundary dispute with its origins mired in colonial history” according to Dr. Oduntan. He discusses international legal aspects of the dispute and the need to stick to mediation to solve it, after the Foreign minister of Malawi has mentioned the possibility to refer the dispute to the International Court of Justice in The Hague.
